Patrick has over 20 years experience of Oracle, both using the ERP and the database and development tools. He has implemented and managed Oracle's E-Business Suite and upgraded it to Oracle Fusion Cloud. He spent five years at the Cabinet Office, at the heart of the Shared Services Strategy for Government. This brought all 18 of the UK Government's Departments and over 200 agencies together onto five shared ERPs. Three of these, Defence, Overseas and Synergy, chose Oracle. Patrick re-established the Oracle Strategic Group, a cross-government Oracle user group, and set up working groups for Redwood and AI.

In November 2025 Patrick left the Cabinet Office and established ERP Mentor, dedicated to helping organisations achieve success with their ERP implementations and get the most from their investment in their ERP after go-live.

Patrick is the author of ERP Success, and several other books, and a long-time contributor to the UK Oracle User Group.
