I’m Oracle DBA, beloved husband and father of three incredible boys I absolutely love spending time and learn from them.
I started my career in Oracle 1999 as teacher supported by Oracle Education Spain, under a project named “Project University Enterprise”. I got trained directly from Oracle Education Spain team and started as a freelance consultant and trainer from 2002 when I got my first OCP certification in Oracle8i Database Administration. Old times when the Internet was just starting and everything was on the Oracle Documentation and Jonathan Lewis and Tom Kyte books.
Those 23 years I was entirely dedicated to Oracle databases.
No other database engines. Sorry not sorry.
I joined projects for the Spanish Administration (National Police, Ministry of Presidency, Tax Office, Justice Office, etc.) and in private corporations as pharma industries, Andorran Telco, financial and insurance companies, and even moved to the Arctic to work as Oracle DBA for the Norwegian Health system at Helse Nord IKT.
I even learned some Norwegian there! It was an amazing experience!
During this time, I wrote a book named “Optimización SQL en Oracle” (Spanish) about SQL Tuning in Oracle, and you may have found me participating in Oracle podcasts, writing tech articles, helping other Oracle users in Experts Exchange (they gave me the Master in Oracle Database badge, uh!), or as speaker in Oracle User groups community doing SQL magic tricks.
Now I’m building something amazing and totally new: The “Café Database” project.
Café Database is a “lounge place” for Oracle DBAs and Developers to chat and collaborate in our Discord server. I usually lead SQL tuning labs, café-talks with other Oracle experts (or non-only-oracle) in stage channels where people may join us and participate. All our talks end up in the Café Database podcast, in the GitHub site or in the YouTube channel.
Yeah, you probably miss that too… I’m starting this all in Spanish by now.
